Unveiling
Unveiling Date: Saturday, October 11, 2003, 2:00 PM (1400 Hours) Location: The front grounds of the Chilliwack Museum 45820 Spadina Avenue, Chilliwack, B.C.
The statue will be unveiled amidst much ceremony and will make for an exciting day for Chilliwack with participation from two Canadian regiments including the Canadian Scottish Regiment (Victoria, B.C.), and the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada (Vancouver, B.C.). Both the Canadian Scottish and Seaforth Highlander Pipe Bands will be in attendance along with the Chilliwack and District Pipe Band.
 An 18-member Chilliwack based colour party will lead the parade, with participation from various local veterans' organizations. The Canadian Scottish will parade with their regimental colours under guard, and Pipe Major Roger McGuire will play the lament, "Flowers of the Forest". At specific intervals during the unveiling ceremony the Pipe and Drum bands will perform. The Chilliwack Middle School Band will play a selection of First World War songs, prior to the commencement of the ceremonies from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
Following the unveiling the regimental bands and the Chilliwack and District Pipe Band will march through the streets of Chilliwack on three separate routes, meeting up at Evergreen Hall located at 9291 Corbould Street, Chilliwack, B.C.
It is estimated that between 2,000 - 3, 000 individuals will be in attendance and will include Provost Patrick Connelly and Deputy Council Officer Lauire Marshall of North Lanarkshire, Scotland and at least 30 members of the Richardson family.
