The proposed Harmonized Sales Tax is getting closer to its July 1st implementation. Many citizens, particularly small business owners, have questions they would like to ask. As a result, the Burnaby-Fraser Tax Services Office is planning a series of information sessions at Chilliwack Library on March 2nd, 5th and 15th. The City of Chilliwack is developing a new Cultural Centre in the heart of downtown Chilliwack. This state-of-the-art cultural facility will include an art gallery, a 500+ seat performance theatre, a 150 seat recital hall/rehearsal space/dance studio/meeting space, music instruction rooms, arts and crafts studios and related amenities. It will be located on City-owned land at The Landing, adjacent to existing sports and recreation facilities and Prospera Centre. The Cheam Centre Renovation plan will redevelop and upgrade the existing Cheam Centre into a high-quality community recreation destination. [click for more info]
