Seniors’ Resources Society is

a membership based charitable

organization providing programs,

services, resources, and activities

to seniors to promote wellness,

maintain independence and

decrease social

isolation.

National Seniors Day

In honour of National Seniors Day we will be

hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday,

October 1st from 9:00-11:00 am and a

Community Education Series each Wednesday

in October from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at St. Thomas

Anglican Church featuring presentations on

Optimal Health, Advance Care Planning,

Armchair Travel and Successful Aging.

Activities

(Fees may apply) We have a variety of activities

for a range of interests including: Table Tennis,

Chair Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Social Crib, Line

Dancing, Seniors Dance, Pickleball, Badminton,

Zumba, Floor Curling, Carpet Bowling, a

Walking Program and Tuesday Social for coffee

and games. Wanda’s Tea Dance at the Lions

Hall on Spadina runs from September to June

on the last Monday of the month.

Bus Excursions

Our Tour Coordinator has years of experience

planning getaways of every kind. We have

hosted day trips, overnight stays and extended

stay excursions. Whether you prefer an

afternoon exploring Granville Island and

enjoying lunch at the Culinary School or a trip

sailing the Inside Passage, we have something

for everyone! If you are looking for more

adventure, book our Oregon Coast trip and

experience the ride of your life!

Programs

We provide a variety of programs for seniors

including a Seniors Housing Support Program,

Volunteer Grocery Shopping, Community

Volunteer Income Tax Program (for low income

seniors or disabled persons by donation), Form

Completion, Used Medical Equipment Registry

and Resource Information. Also popular is the

Break Away Bus program: subsidized local

excursions for seniors who may not be able

to participate in full day trips for health or

financial reasons.

Support services, education and resources are

available to all local seniors with no membership

required. Our activities are held at the

Evergreen Hall, Mount Cheam Lions Club, and

the Landing Sports Centre.
