| Description: 7:00pm - 6:00pm. The majority of reluctant readers are boys. An estimated 40% of boys are reluctant readers. On average, boys are 1.5 years behind girls, into their teens. That's why parents, teachers and mentors need to know about Jump-Starting Boys. Pam's presentation will include: Why do boys struggle more than girls? 7 things parents can do. How to connect boys with reading Easy ways to instantly increase his confidence & performance This is a free program and is hosted together by Yarrow Community School and the Yarrow Library. The event will take place on Monday, September 21, 7 pm at Yarrow Community School, in the Multi-purpose room. Pam Withers is co-author of Jump-Starting Boys: Help Your Reluctant Learner Find Success in School and Life, and the award-winning author of 17 bestselling adventure books particularly popular with boys.
