Sign up starts June 28 and continues throughout the summer. Read to Me (0 to Preschool). Little ones get stickers, prizes and a medal. Keep track of the reading you do with your child. Kids (grades K to 6). Join the SRC and get an awesome reading record designed by BC illustrator Lee Edward Fodi. Win prizes, see great shows, and earn a medal. Just read every day! The sweet smell along with the beautiful pink and green color makes a watermelon an especially inviting fruit to taste, create, and hold. We will do just that, your little kiddo will have a blast making crafts, snacks and having a blast all while learning about this yummy fruit!!!

Welcoming all those in Kindergarten to 12 years! Join us under the big top! It will be a fun filled week of clowning around while learning the basics of "clown school". We will make up our own clown names and faces, play parachute games, learn to juggle and more! (Tuesday-Friday, 9-5pm, $27/day)

Art & Sculpture Exhibition with Diane Mackenzie artist, and Michael Ray, Sculptor Wed. through Sat, 12 noon to 5 Pm

Diane Mackenzie’s work reflects her rural roots and her love of nature, in clean, clear colours, masterful techniques,and good design and composition. Michael Ray Michael’s sculptures are figurative in wood, stone and metal. Most of the work is intended to be easily recognizable by the viewer. ortable with the work, and then invite them to explore and experience the shapes and forms.

From August 5th – 7th of 2016, the Chilliwack & District Agricultural Society will be proudly hosting its 144th Annual Chilliwack Fair. The Fair is the cornerstone of the summer event schedule in Chilliwack and we plan to build on last year’s attendance of 35,000 people for 3 days of entertainment and competition! The Fair’s widespread appeal makes for a truly community event, with attractions ranging from the crowd favourite BCRA Rodeo to the featured evening performers, cooking demonstrations, pony rides and games. This year we are featuring a Blues & Boots theme for our two concert nights; on Friday “Blues” night we are presenting Tom Lavin and the Legendary Powder Blues, and on Saturday “Boots” night we have Karen Lee Batten headlining with blooming artists Robyn & Ryleigh and Lisa Nicole – you are sure to be entertained!

Learn about the fascinating plants and animals that call Chilliwack Mountain home! Join us for a Biologist-led nature walk at the Hillkeep Regional Park on the top of Chilliwack Mountain. We will explore this scenic park habitat which supports a wide range of species, both common and rare.

Meet at 10am at the park entrance. Rain or shine. Sturdy walking shoes recommended. Directions: Follow Grandview Drive to the top of the hill, turn right on Hillkeep Place, and meet in the cul-de-sac at the end of this road.

Welcoming all those in Kindergarten to 12 years! Dig in deep and find your inner archaeologist! You will be up to your elbows in dirt doing a dinosaur dig, growing your own dinosaur, and learning what it's like to be a real dinosaur. (Monday-Friday, 9-5pm, $27/day)

Ages: 3-5, 9:30-11:00 am. Cost $55. Let's plan a day at the beach to enjoy, rain or shine! While playing we will discover elements of the beach. We will also explore through fun games songs, crafts and activities. If we can’t go to the beach, then we will bring the beach to us!

Put your plant in your very own, self-made jaunty hanging, plant basket. Sidrah & Nasrin Ahmad will show you how to crochet a cozy holder for your favourite little green friend! All skill levels welcome. Wednesday, August 10, Ages 13-Adult, 5:30-8 pm. Cost: $35. *CCAC members save 10%.

His show is a meeting place for the worlds of music and science. Using home made, invented instruments, world music, and humor, along with a pro recycling message, Andy enthralls young audiences with a truly unique performance!

August 10 – September 8, 2016 at the Chilliwack Community Arts Council Art Room Gallery Artist Meet & Greet on Friday, August 12 from 6 – 8 p.m. The Chilliwack Community Arts Council proudly presents its next gallery exhibition, Back to Her Roots, featuring Dara Kim Sherlock of Kimmikat Kreative. Looking for a unique way to uncork your creativity? Come join us in an evening full of artsy fun with friends as we create art & sample wine. A local artist will lead you step by step through the process of unleashing your inner Van Gogh. For all skill levels. Thursday, August 18, Thursday, September 15. Ages: Adult, 7-9 pm. The 2nd Annual Fraser Valley Ride for Hope takes place Saturday, August 20th at Big Top Powersports, 7869 Enterprise Drive, Chilliwack, BC. Ages: 3-5, 9:30-11:00 am. Cost $55. Join us for a fun filled week of exploring under water! We will discover what under water creatures live in the ocean! We will play games, and make crafts for your preschooler to take home. We will also have a blast making some fun yummy snacks too all while learning about ocean life!

Instructor Patti Lawn will demonstrate the basics of making ‘cold-process soap’ from scratch: the process, tools and ingredients including lye, fixed oils, fragrance oils, essential oils, micas, oxides, and natural colorants. You will take home at least 2 bars of colourful, handmade soap made during the class, as well as an information booklet. Please dress comfortable, and make sure your arms are covered. This 2 day event promises to be bigger and better than ever! For the Young at Heart: Come enjoy the vocal stylings of the Chilliwack Harmony Chorus singing four part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style!
