A program incorporating the foundations and values of yoga with life skills, educational workshops and fun activities that are designed to engage, empower and connect Chilliwack youth within the community. In this program we will focus on both yoga and restorative justice values; Balance, Community, Honesty, Integrity, Lifestyle and Learning. All youth welcome ages 15-18. Program runs Friday's from 3:30pm to 5pm (excluding good Friday); a light snack is provided. Pre-registration is required.

2017 Fraser Valley Biennale Opens at The O’Connor Group Art Gallery On April 6, to May 13th. The Chilliwack Visual Artist Association is pleased to open an exciting group exhibition at The O’Connor Group Art Gallery in the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, 9201 Corbould St, Chilliwack. (Opening hours from 12 noon until 5 pm, Wednesday through Saturday). We were very honoured to be invited to become one of the host art galleries for the Biennale for the first time since its inauguration in 2011. The 2017 Fraser Valley Biennale is an impressive survey of some of the most exceptional works of art produced by artists in the Fraser Valley region over the past two years. It began in 2011 as a partnership between The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford and arts councils from around the region. The Biennale celebrates the artistic accomplishments of the region, expands the public’s knowledge of the artists working locally, and nurtures the growth of the artist community in the Fraser Valley. Come out and join the Chilliwack Visual Artists Association as they open another extraordinary exhibition at the O’Connor Group Art Gallery. The Opening Reception takes place at 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, 8th April and members of the public are welcome to join in the celebration of the artists presented in this noteworthy exhibition. Learn the warning signs of depression and when the way you are feeling is a far more serious medical condition than just feeling sad. Depression impacts a person’s feelings, their behaviours, physical well-being and relationships with others. Explore the cycles of depression and how to cope with them. Check out some preventive strategies. Discover the variety of treatments that are available and where you can find help when you or someone you love is struggling with depression.

The Senior’s Resources Society is pleased to present our Community Education Series As people age, it is not uncommon to reflect on life with a desire to resolve hurts, restore relationships and sometimes even share long held secrets. The 7th annual Impact 7 Aside Soccer tournament will be on May 6, 2017 at Fairfield Park located at 46213 Claire Avenue in Chilliwack BC. There are 2 divisions; competitive and fun, with a maximum of 12 teams in each division. The teams will compete until one team in each division becomes victorious. Each team must be made up of both male and female players. All proceeds support the Cyrus Centre’s Chilliwack Emergency Youth Shelter. We look forward to hosting a family friendly event with entertaining games of soccer and delicious food, while raising money for a local charity.

Investors Group Walk for Alzheimers - Everyone is welcome to come and participate with us. Please register and team or walk for yourself. Come down and enjoy some festivities and raise some money for an amazing cause. Walk for Alzheimer’s is Canada’s biggest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Monies raised support programs and services in your community that improve the quality of life for people living with dementia and their families, and support other activities like education and public awareness.

Join us for an evening of inspiring Recovery Stories and Live Music presented in an upbeat atmosphere by individuals like yourself who have a lived experience of Mental Health struggles and have come out the other side. Mental health stories inform the public, reduce stigma and inspire hope in those still suffering.

ART33 is a collective of students from School District 33 high schools (Chilliwack, G.W. Graham and Sardis Secondary). It is a favourite annual event at the O'Connor Group Art gallery with the exhibiting student’s friends and family as well as members of the art community.​ The artworks showcased in this exhibition are responses to projects in a variety of courses offered at the high school level as juried by the art teachers during the 2016-2017 school year. Students are encouraged to share their personal taste and experiences through drawing, painting, printmaking, graphic design, digital art, ceramics, sculpture, animation and fabric arts. For some students, this is a start of a career in the arts. For others, this is a demonstration of their affinity for the arts. The Exhibit runs from May18th to June 17th, and the Reception is on May 18th from 6om to 8pm. Shown in the O'Connor Group Art Gallery, in the Cultural Centre, 9201 Corbould St. from noon until 5pm Wednesday thru Saturday, and on some show nights from 6.30 to 7.30. Admission is free.

11 am – 2 pm. Have you visited the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve, a 130 hectare site located on the floodplain of the Vedder River? The site is home to over 90 Great Blue Heron nests and a wide variety of wildlife and vegetation. It is perfect for nature walks and great photos. Volunteers from the Society will be in the library lobby to talk about what to see and do on your visit.

12 pm – 3 pm. Are you looking for something new to do outside this summer? The Hope Mountain Centre for Outdoor Learning - a registered charity in Hope, offers outdoors events for all ages and abilities, spanning all seasons. All their programs are professionally led, with educational experts who explore topics ranging from ecology and human history to backcountry skills. Visit them in the Library lobby for information on the exciting activities they offer, just up the highway!

The Chilliwack Floral Art Club presents the annual flower show "Floral Expressions". Competitors create dazzling fresh flower designs. Anyone in need of a flower fix should not miss this. Dozens of displays of fresh flower arrangements. Free parking, free Admission, open during Mall hours.

McCammon Traditional Elementary School PAC is proud to present our Carnival: Friday, May 26, 2015 from 4pm – 8pm, McCammon Traditional Elementary, 9601 Hamilton Street, Chilliwack BC. Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra & Chorus present their “SUPER SPRING CONCERT” on May 27, 7:30 p.m. at their new venue, First Ave. Christian Assembly. The variety-packed evening, guaranteed to entertain absolutely everyone, features the orchestra with Chilliwack’s acclaimed Wesley Hawkins playing the challenging Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.2 in C minor. The orchestra will perform popular movie favourites from Schindler’s List, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean. Also highlighted on stage are the music duo Anna and Jason Ratzlaff, and dancers from the Fraser Valley Academy of Dance.

Chilliwack Restorative Justice & Youth Advocacy Association will be hosting their Spring Bike Auction on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Bernard Elementary. Over 100 bikes have been donated to the organization by the City of Chilliwack and the Chilliwack community. We always have a wide variety of bikes available; some are in good shape while others will need some work and repairs. The bike preview begins at 9am with the auction at 10am. We can accept cash as well as credit cards as forms of payment when purchasing a bike. Guywires Mobile Cycle Tech will be on site again offering bike inspections for a donation of $5.00. All proceeds will be donated back to Restorative Justice. Proceeds from the bike auction will support our prevention programs.

Come enjoy a FREE family event happening at the Yarrow Community School on May 27th from 2-7pm. Rain or shine! Admission & parking is FREE for the whole family. We will have a bouncy castle, free live entertainment, a large artisan market, free activities for the whole family, a raffle with amazing prizes, and much more. Our very own chef will be on site offering a Country Style BBQ! All proceeds of this BBQ will be going to the Yarrow Community School. Come enjoy cotton candy, chips, pop and popcorn for a small fee.
