Work:

The City of Chilliwack is seeking Expressions of Interest from Design-Build Proponents to design and construct the following works:

Location #1: CNR right-of-way in the vicinity of Edward Street and Park Drive

Installation of approximately 200m of 1200mm storm main;
Installation of approximately 20m of 1200mm pipe under the CN railway;

Project Objective
To reduce ditch maintenance requirements by installing a new 1200mm pipe in place of the ditch on the north side of the CNR and connecting the new pipe to the existing storm main on the south side of the rail line by boring under it.

Location #2: Ashwell Road between Hodgins Avenue and just north of Spadina

Installation of approximately 310m of storm main;
Reconstruction of approximately 510m of urban standard roadway;

Project Objective
To provide a storm main connection to the new Multiplex Arena by Fall of 2003 and reconstruct Ashwell Road to an urban collector standard in 2004.

Sealed Expression of Interest (EI) from complete teams clearly marked with the Proponent's name, address and "Ashwell Road Reconstruction" and "Hospital Trunk Storm Sewer" shall be received by the undersigned at the office of the City of Chilliwack not later than 3:00 p.m., local time, "Mar 18, 2003" and used to 'short list' the Proponents. Proponent teams or individuals not possessing the complete expertise, ie., both design and construction, will not be considered. A maximum of three (3) teams will be invited to submit detailed Proposals.

RFEI documents may be obtained from the City's Engineering Department on or after "Mar 3, 2003". An information meeting will be held at the offices of the City of Chilliwack at "10:00 a.m. on Mar 6, 2003" Inquiries may be directed to "Dwayne Spies, A.Sc.T. - Project Manager" at (604) 793-2907.
