Graham Yates is a freelancing soloist, chamber musician and clinician.  He is the Principal of the Chilliwack Academy of Music, as well as the Artistic Director of Classical Mission (a classical concert series in Mission, BC).

A collaborative artist by trade, recent chamber performances have included the quintets with strings, clarinet trios and duo piano concerts, performing for a variety of audiences ranging from UBC music faculty and students, to crowds at Langley’s Rose Gellert Hall, and to Sechelt’s more intimate Art Gallery.  Working with other professional musicians in the region, he has performed with pianists Marcel and Elizabeth Bergmann, violinist Yuri Zaidenberg, and is a member of the newly formed Bacchus Trio with cellist Joel Stobbe and clarinetist Erika Block.

Mr. Yates completed his Master of Music with teacher Alexander Tselyakov at Brandon University in Manitoba, and is a former faculty member at the Langley Community Music School.  Originally from Prince George, Mr. Yates continued his piano studies in Langley with Sandra Joy Friesen and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity Western University.
