Royal Canadian Mounted Police Auxiliary Constable Program “Recruiting”
The Auxiliary Constable Program is designed to strengthen community and police partnerships by providing volunteers with the opportunity to perform various authorized activities. The primary purpose of this program is to participate in community policing activities throughout the province relating to public safety and crime prevention.
Who Can Apply?
- A minimum age – 19 years
- Canadian Citizen
- Minimum education requirement - High School Diploma
- Possess a Valid Driver’s License
- Must Meet Medical Suitability Standard
- Applicants must attain RCMP reliability status
Training
- Approximately 90 hours of classroom training
- Approximately 40 hours of additional training outside a classroom environment on topics such as officer safety techniques and foot drill
- Attendance to all training days is required
- Classes are usually two training sessions per week
- Students must successfully pass a mid-term exam and a final exam
