  Sardis Park

Sardis Park is scheduled to be upgraded over the next 5 years.

The design of Sardis Park includes the following improvements:

  • The pedestrian entrance will be moved, making it more central to the parking lot.
  • The shrubs separating the parking lot from the park will be thinned.
  •  A new fence will be constructed to bring people to one pedestrian entrance.
  • A pathway will connect the new entrance and the lookout at the water edge.
  • The newly created pathway will be lined with oak trees to frame the view to the pond.
  • A kiosk will be installed at the intersection of the paths.
  • A lookout is to be constructed at the edge of the water.
  • The lookout will have a wall to separate the waterfowl and the park users.
  • The water edge brush will be trimmed to increase the visibility throughout the site.
  • The island will be brushed and trimmed to encourage positive use.
  • The area between the island and the shore will be filled to increase the lawn area.
  •  A pathway will bring users onto the former island, to access a small picnic area.
  • Aerators have been installed in the pond to improve the water quality.
  • The outflow has been lowered to promote more water movement.
  •  The park planting beds will be refreshed.
