Fire Department

The Chilliwack Fire Department has 6 fire halls which are staffed by 40 career and 135 paid on- call dedicated and well trained fire officers and firefighters. In addition to the primary responsibilities of providing fire response for an area over 260 square kilometres, the fire department is also responsible for providing:

  • Fire prevention, including fire inspections, fire and life safety education, and fire investigations
  • Rescue
  • Training
  • Emergency preparedness
  • Medical aid in support of BCEHS
  • Motor vehicle incidents
  • Alarm activations
  • Burning complaints
